Description Departure at Dusk captures the stillness before change, a moment suspended between past and future. The man from Lesotho, poised on a zebra at sunset, becomes a symbol of transition and belonging, straddling the space between worlds. The zebra, with its merging of black and white, mirrors the dualities he carries, home and elsewhere, memory and reinvention. The distant airplane echoes modern migration, while the landscape holds the quiet familiarity of origin. Together they form a portrait of movement that is both physical and emotional, a farewell without finality, a journey that begins in stillness.

Description “This work is not about collapse, but about revelation. It speaks to the instant when sadness can no longer be disguised, when the masquerade slips and the truth fractures through. The face does not ask to be repaired; it asks to be acknowledged. Here, brokenness is not an ending. It is the honest surface that remains when pretending becomes impossible.“

Description “Move over Paris. The donkey has arrived. Protea Rouge Couture is a fashion rebel in hooves. Unapologetic, unbothered, and entirely uninterested in trends she didn’t invent herself. Cloaked in a bold turquoise coat, she struts the invisible runway with gold hooves polished to perfection and a protea-red tail swishing like it’s fashion week somewhere between Rooiels and Milan. This is couture with attitude. No heels, only hooves. No pedigree, only grit. The donkey, historically the workhorse of the world, refuses to be boxed into practicality. She shows up overdressed, under-impressed, and absolutely owning it. Her protea tail is a nod to South Africa’s fiercest bloom. Resilient, dramatic, and impossible to ignore. Like the protea, she thrives where others wilt. She doesn’t chase approval. She is the statement. Slow walk. Sharp look. Zero apologies. Protea Rouge Couture celebrates radical self-worth. She reminds us that rebellion can be quiet, glamour can be unexpected, and sometimes the most powerful thing you can wear is exactly who you are. Donkey. But make it couture.”
