Description This work forms part of my Labour of Love Collage series. A body of work that evolves intuitively through the assembling of found ceramic and porcelain objects alongside handmade elements. Each work is allowed to grow organically, guided by intuition rather than a fixed plan, and in this process, unexpected and delightful stories emerge. At the centre of this work is a small figurine of Eve—a much earlier piece I had kept for myself and has great sentimental value. Although I found it hard to part with, I was drawn to place it inside this soup tureen given to me by my mother. And so, this work started unfolding! The bowl functions as both container and environment. Within it, a joyful chaos takes shape, echoing the textures and contradictions of lived experience. Meant to be viewed first closed and then opened, the piece invites the viewer to engage, and discover a delightful surprise inside. When closed, all appears calm and self-contained. On the lid, Adam stands tall atop a large teddy bear, an image that feels strong and dependable while also unsettling ideas of masculinity, protection, innocence, and dependence. When opened, Eve is revealed, strong and calm in the middle, surrounded by images and fragments that suggest contradictions: vulnerability, desire, comfort, love, disruption… This interior chaos is not tragic but generative—a space of origin, complexity, and becoming: From this tender, broken, playful, and unresolved disorder, human experience emerges.

Sculpture & 3DDescription Auguste Moreau (1834 – 1917) was a French sculptor born in Dijon. The third and youngest son of sculptor and painter Jean-Baptiste Moreau, Auguste began creating sculptural works alongside his older brothers Hippolyte and Mathurin. In 1861, Auguste Moreau made his debut at the Salon, where he exhibited regularly and abundantly until 1913. Moreau cast much of his sculptural work in bronze, often choosing pastoral or allegorical scenes as his subject matter. The fine works exhibit a naturalistic, elegant style, showing similarity to pieces cast by other members of the Moreau dynasty. Today, Auguste Moreau’s sculpture is as highly prized as ever, and can be found in many important public institutions, galleries and collections around the world.
